Guardian Angles of
St Alphonsus School

Information for Donors

St. Alphonsus School has been educating children in the Irish Channel since 1850.

Today it serves approximately 150–200 students from Pre-K through 7th grade. Nearly all come from families living below the national poverty level, yet the school provides a strong academic foundation — with every graduating 7th grader last year accepted into a private or parochial high school.

Tuition assistance for the school’s kindergarten students was historically provided through Louisiana’s state-funded State Scholarship for Excellence Program which was recently discontinued by the legislature.

The Guardian Angels of St. Alphonsus School has been established to help cover this shortfall and provide stability for the year ahead. Any funds not immediately needed will be reserved to support the school in future years.  A private donor has committed to matching every dollar donated up to $250,000, with a goal of raising enough to stabilize the school for the coming years.  Please help us raise the additional $250,000.

Becoming a Guardian Angel - in whatever amount feels right - helps ensure that St. Alphonsus School can continue serving the children and families who rely on it.

Donations are tax-deductible.
